Signal de Bougy - Adventure Park and Animal Park

Signal de Bougy - Adventure Park and Animal Park

Signal de Bougy is a great place to spend the day as there is lots to see and do, including an Adventure Park for older kids (4 years+) and play park, as well as an Animal Park. They have a bunch of other events going on too around the park including things like Pizza making for older children and fun activities outside including Water Ball.

The park is accessible year-round, with the restaurant and activities being open from 2nd March to 29th November for this year.

Dogs have to be kept on a lead here so Luka was being very annoying since he didn’t get his usual fill of an off-leash morning walk, constantly pulling us left and right but we take him with us so he can at least be out with the family.

The drive from central Geneva takes around 45 minutes when the roads are clear, coming off the motorway at the Rolle/Gimel exit. The Park opens at 10am which is when we arrived, meaning that we could find a space easily in the car park. As it gets later the car park quickly gets full, so better to come earlier than later if you don’t want to lose time trying to find a parking space!

Before we went to the Animal Park itself, we went for a small walk in the woods just beyond the end of the car park. There is a small track through the woods and it switches back into Signal de Bougy itself. It only gave Luka 15 minutes or so off the lead, but we gathered it was better than nothing!

It loops around the Adventure Park, which seemed pretty big and caters for children from 4 years and above.

We then came out by the big grass area where Luka had to be put back on the leash and the paved path led us to the restaurant for Signal de Bougy.

We were meeting our friends and their daughter so the kids had a play in the play park just in front of the restaurant before we went to look at the animals.

The goats were unsurprisingly a big hit, as they are very tame and came in for a pet by the children. There were also donkeys, pigs, sheep and ducks in the other paddocks.

There was also someone flying a kite in the big field next to the goats paddock which mesmerised Kai.

Here we discovered that Luka is very afraid of pigs!

We then decided that we’d had enough of being pulled around by Luka and the kids seemed pretty hungry so made a stop at the restaurant. As it was the peak of lunch hour, the queues were pretty long. They have a good selection of self-service food though, so there’s something for every one, including a kids’ menu stand.

Picnics are also allowed here as long as you are not using the seating area reserved for the restaurant. There are lots of picnic tables on the terrace below the restaurant and of course you could picnic on the lawn.

If you have a dog that doesn’t mind being on the leash and stopping and starting a lot, then this is a great day out for the whole family as there is everything to entertain kids for quite some time!

Fun factor for child: 5/5 - pet the animals and play in the massive play park

Fun factor for dog: 1/5 - it’s definitely not Luka’s idea of a fun day out but it beats staying at home alone
