A Brief History

As a newly married couple we moved to Geneva from London in Autumn of 2014. Our lives are totally different now compared to our London days, including having become dog owners and now parents to a boy and a baby girl.

Geneva certainly is a gem of a city, with so many things happening….if you know where to get the information! To help the many families living here for inspiration of fun things to do with their kids, there are some great resources such as parentville.ch, thefamilyof5.com, and genevafamilydiaries.net and so the list goes on.

There are all sorts of other websites and blogs dedicated to many different interests and things to do (thingstodoingeneva.ch is a good one for new restaurants/general fun things to do in the city. and I like lensandsensibility.com for photography and lifestyle); there’s no shortage of places to get good information.

But for me, what was missing was information about what I could do with my children in tow as well as my dog. We are fortunate enough to live in Switzerland, which is an incredibly dog-friendly place. They are allowed almost everywhere with us, including most restaurants, cafes, shops, departments stores…I’ve seen dogs at Yoga classes and I’ve even taken my dog to my son’s Osteopath’s office! However there’s only so much shopping and sipping coffees you can do when you have a lively toddler and an even livelier hunting dog.

Luka is not the kind of dog that would be satisfied with a leashed walk around the block then be left at home for the rest of the time. He is used to getting 2-3 hours of walks, mostly off the leash, every day! So my days are often spent doing and exploring things that are both fun for my children as well as my dog. The aim of this blog site is to share with you places you can go and things you can do that enable you to bring both your child(ren) and dog(s) along.

Where do you like to go with your furry and fur-less babies? Get in touch and share with us your favourite activities!
