Child and Dog-Friendly Café - Patisserie Mage, Champel
Granted, most cafés in Geneva accept both children and dogs, however some are better than others for catering to children’s needs. I want to share the ones that I’ve been to that are particularly good for parents wanting to eat with their children and be able to bring their dogs with them.
I came to Patisserie Mage very recently for the first time and was surprised by this cute little terrace out the back of the café which is completely fenced in with a small area for sitting and small area that has been made into a children’s play area.
It’s by no means big, but certainly offers enough toys to keep your kids occupied. I was pleasantly surprised that dogs are allowed here, though it is a fairly tight space so if it’s busy and you have a big dog, I always worry that parents who don’t like dogs will kick up a fuss.
It’s open 7 days a week, so a great option if you’re looking for somewhere on a Sunday.
The play area is outside, so not an option on a rainy/very cold day. Also, there are a number of steps to get up to the terrace, so either you can leave your pram at the bottom of the steps or drag your pram up the stairs.
A changing table is available in the toilet area in the main restaurant.
