This month's Geneva Hiking with Dogs took place in Bois de la Bâtie with 7 lively dogs!
After a long hiatus, Geneva Hiking with Dogs is back! This time in Versoix, and everyone had great fun, dogs and humans alike.
A great itinerary for active families looking for something fun for children and with the bonus of a lovely restaurant right next door! Check it out on your next sunny weekend or Bank Holiday.
La Flaine is a ski resort connected to Les Carroz and is the highest altitude resort of the Grand Massif. It’s a very popular resort during the winter season amongst the Genevois for this reason during the winter but it also has a lot to offer during the summer season! I highly recommend spending some time in La Flaine for a fun day for the whole family.
Now the both of the kids are old enough (youngest is 3 years old), we are revisiting the Mont Favy forest in Les Carroz where there is an Adventure Park and Pony rides to be enjoyed. It makes for a great few hours of outing with young or slightly older children and a forest for your furry friend to enjoy himself!
We’re back with another edition of hiking with dogs this month. Due to fawning season restrictions, I opted for Bois de la Bâtie which is a leash-free zone year-round. It’s a great walk with nice views of the junction of the Arve and Rhone rivers, beaches for the dogs to swim and a nice varied walk.
The newly upgraded Bois de la Bâtie is a real gem, a must-visit on a sunny day. There’s Geneva’s biggest playground, paddling pool, animal park, dog park and buvette all in one place! Even if you live out of town, it’s worth a visit.
Megève is in easy reach from Geneva and a wonderful spot for a family day trip or getaway. Being in France, of course it’s dog-friendly too and plenty of trails to explore for the whole family. I share with you a few of the walks and activities we did during our stay here.
A wonderful haven for families with children and dogs, in Valais! We will definitely be going back.
After a long hiatus, I decided to organise a big hike a little further afield from Geneva in Gimel, Vaud. The sun turned up for the occasion and even though the Spring snow made the hike slightly challenging in sections, it was nice to be outdoors with likeminded friends, enjoying the nature with our four-legged companions.
A child-friendly walk through the forest ending at the beach in Allaman in Vaud. A great walk with something for everyone!
An extremely scenic hike in Valais around Lac de Tanay. It requires stamina and strength if you have to carry your children but if you’re up for it, it’s definitely worth it!
A wonderful corner of Vaud for a outing as a family. Butterflies in the flowers, an owl hidden in a tree trunk and big fish in the pond welcome the kids for a fun day in nature!
An impromptu walk across the top of the Salève in neighbouring France was surprisingly lovely. Highly recommended half day itinerary that can be adapted to every family!
I had the chance to go along on a hike with Famke and her Golden Retriever Olle on a guided hike around St Cergue. A wonderful experience I would recommend to anyone with, or without children!
This month’s edition of Geneva Hiking with Dogs took place in Peney Dessous on a glorious Sunny morning with some regulars at these walks!
October’s edition of Hiking with Dogs took place in Bois de Jussy. We had some regulars, as well as first timers on this wonderful wooded walk
This month’s edition of Geneva Hiking with Dogs took place in Versoix, Tanner the Greyhound’s daily walking route who sadly passed away earlier this month. May you run free over the rainbow bridge buddy!
An amazing place which offers amazing fun for the whole family! We can’t wait to go back!
If you happen to be in this area, then a good option for a walk and play park combo
