Geneva Hiking with Dogs- September Edition - Versoix
I happen to also be the organiser of a group called Geneva Hiking with Dogs, which I do on a voluntary basis and has been running for around 3 years now!
Walks generally take place around once a month, and I try to do them in different locations to encourage people living in all corners of Geneva and the surrounding areas to attend.
If you are interested in joining one of the walks, you will find the group on meetup.com, Facebook and glocals.com
This month’s walk was in honour of Tanner, the Greyhound pictured above who was a regular at Geneva Hiking with Dogs over the last year or so. He sadly passed away on Sunday 8th September after losing his battle with bone cancer. May he run free over the rainbow bridge. A special thanks to Phyllis his owner who showed us this wonderful walk, which he did daily.
Unusually this month’s walk was a small dogs club. Luka must have weighed at least double the largest dog there! We had tiny Asa the 1.5kg Yorkie join us, our smallest pack member to attend yet!
All the dogs had a great time, and most enjoyed splashing in the water along the way. We even picked up a couple of random dogs along for part of the walk, we must have looked like such a fun bunch to the other dogs we met along the way.
We had yet more new faces joining us, which was very nice, as well as one of our original pack members who has been attending since our very first walk, Milo the Border Terrier!
For details of the route itself, check out my post about the last time we walked here.
