Parc La Grange- Dog Park and Play Park combo

Parc La Grange- Dog Park and Play Park combo

This is another great play park and dog park combo especially if you’re coming from the centre of town.

The dog park is not fenced in, and situated fairly close to the play park and BBQ area though, so if your dog likes to run off, beware!

The play park consists of three main areas, all located near the entrance off Route de Frontenex.

One area closest to the park entrance is suited to younger children, then there is a paddling pool which is open during the summer and further down is another play area suited for older children with larger climbing structures.

The dog park is situated in the corner of the park running along Route de Frontenex and neighbouring Parc des Eaux-Vives. The wooded paths along the perimeter are also off-leash, so you can do a little loop of Parc La Grange where the dogs can be off the lead for almost the entire time, apart from the lake facing perimeter parallel to Quai Gustave-Ador. These wooded paths are just about doable with a running pram, though the path running alongside Avenue William-Favre is definitely easier.

The park next-door, Parc des Eaux-Vives is connected via a gate to Parc La Grange, and generally is less crowded and a nice option for a picnic. This entire park however dogs must be kept on a lead.

This is a great option as an add-on if you are doing the lakefront walk, like we did today as it was a lovely sunny day. Equally you can swing by one of the many cafes and restaurants in the Eaux-Vives neighbourhood from here.
